Jamaica State of Emergency

Prime Minister Bruce Golding has declared that Jamaica will go to a state of emergency due to recent violent incidents on the Island. This will mark a “turning point” for the country.

The state of emergency was declared  in two parishes of Kingston after police stations were  firebombed  and shot at by suspected supporters of an alleged drug lord who faces extradition order to the United States.

“Let us make no mistake, the threats that have emerged to the safety and security of our people, will be repelled with strong and decisive action.

The state of emergency will remain in effect for a period of one month.

Cali P Live at Nordstern Switzerland 2010

RB recently attended the Cali P concert in Basel Switzerland.

Cali P took to the stage at Basels’ Nordstern venue and received a welcome he should be pleased with.  He performed very well introducing new tracks to his repitoire and delighting the audience with his performance! or so I thought until I bumped learned that there were a few who were not so delighted with the perfomance. Whilst talking the given impression was that he should have moved on from his current or should I dare say old style offering. This was a little bit of a shock for me as I was enjoying the show.

Now if you attended the show we would like to hear your thoughts about the night.

PS. Radicalstream crew were there! so I would also like to hear from them, what they thought……

Should Buju Get The Grammy?

Buju BantonReggae icon Buju Banton has been nominated for a Grammy. But the gay community is not happy about it.  In LA, the  Gay & Lesbian Center has made a statement that  denounces Buju Banton’s nomination. They don’t care about how good he is or about any artistic merits of his works.

The Center’s Chief Public Affairs Officer is quoted as saying, “We’re shocked that Buju Banton, a singer with a long record of performing a song that glorifies the murder of gay people, would be honored with a Grammy nomination, regardless of the artistic merit of any of his work.”

The Grammy nomination is for best reggae album for Buju Banton’s CD Rasta Got Soul.
